A COMMUNITY GATHERED IN LOVE.
The second annual Community Day & Memorial Walk brought families together at Lake Taylor High School for a free day of healing, connection and celebration in honor of Vaughn Parker Jr.
Families shared food and refreshments while children enjoyed bounce houses, face painting, snow cones, flag football and interactive games. Jalyn Holmes joined an autograph experience, DJ Izzy provided music and a Father’s Day gift giveaway celebrated the fathers in the community.
Community wellness and mental-health resources were part of the gathering, creating space for support alongside the celebration. Inclement weather prevented the scheduled Memorial Walk, but the community still gathered with love, laughter and a shared sense of purpose.
Resource partners included Fishing Point Healthcare, Norfolk Community Services Board Prevention Division, Nya Cares, ABNB Federal Credit Union, Victory Village, Aspires Professional Services, Lifted Wellness, TC3 Memorial Foundation, Virginia All Stars and Unity Martial Arts.
