OPPORTUNITY, ROOTED IN LEGACY.
Vaughn’s Way proudly awarded its first-ever scholarships and presented a $1,500 donation to the Lake Taylor High School Football Booster Club in honor of Vaughn Parker Jr.—a proud Lake Taylor alumnus and lifelong advocate for youth development, education and service.
During the Comfort Drive, Jermaine Capel Jr. and Kaleb Shortridge were recognized as the inaugural scholarship recipients, receiving $1,000 each. Both participated in the D-Line Academy in 2024 and 2025, volunteered and demonstrated leadership in their communities.
Their commitment to academics, athletics and service reflects the foundation’s values of leadership, perseverance and giving back. The scholarships were presented in front of the community that continues to support and inspire them.
Coach Hank Sawyer accepted the $1,500 donation on behalf of the Lake Taylor football program. His dedication to shaping young men on and off the field embodies the mentorship and impact Vaughn lived by.
The presentation was a full-circle tribute to Vaughn’s roots—and a celebration of the future his legacy continues to inspire.
